On May 19, 2014, Florida Power & Light (FPL) donated an Electric Car (EV Car) to the Energy Power & Sustainability (EPS) of FIU. The donation ceremony was presided by the FPL Distribution Operations VP, Bryan Olnick, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing, Dr. Amir Mirmiran, and the EPS Director and Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Dr. Arif Sarwat. This event was attended by different students, Faculty and Staff from the department. This donation signifies an important milestone in the continuous efforts of the EPS team to propel innovative technology to the limelight.
