Master’s Students

Maneli Malek Pour received her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran. She is currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant, pursuing her M.S degree in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Florida International University under the supervision of Dr. Arif Sarwat. Her current research includes reliability analysis of Advanced Metering infrastructure meters(Temperature/Humidity), and life expectancy and accelerated aging of Smart Grid products and components. She is also interested in Machine Learning and Data Mining Algorithms and techniques.

Elaheh

Elaheh Zarafshan received her Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Iran Azad University. Currently she is working as a Graduate Research Assistant, pursuing her M.S in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University under the supervision of Dr. Arif Sarwat. Elaheh’s current research is on Threat Categorization and Vulnerability Classification for Smart Grids.

Danish Saleem received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from NED University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan.He is currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant and pursuing his Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University under the supervision of Dr. Arif Sarwat. He served as Technical and Marketing manager which earned Best Static Design award in solar car challenge held in Cyprus, Europe, in July 2012. He is involved in working on Distributed generation of high penetration photovoltaic plant, studying protection and coordination issues of distributed generation and studying the IEEE 1547 Standards. He is also the student president of Energy Club initiated by Dr. Arif Sarwat and currently working and trying to collaborate different K-12 schools with this club. His areas of interests include Smart grid protection, power systems stability and control and Renewable integration.

Harikrishnan Nair received his Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering from Mumbai University, India.Currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant and pursuing his Master degree in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Florida International University under the supervision of Dr. Arif Sarwat. His current research is on the Visualization of Threat and Vulnerabilities in the Smart Grid. The objective of his research is to evaluate the Cyber-Security posture of the Smart Grid by emulate large scale cyber-physical attack scenarios.
