On August 21, 2017, The FIU College of Engineering & Computing provides a peek into the groundbreaking research on solar energy being conducted at FIU EPS Group in collaboration with Florida Power & Light (FPL Connect). The researchers at FIU’s Energy, Power & Sustainability Group monitor how the solar eclipse affects the collection of solar energy and its impact to the solar panel installation at the Engineering Campus.
We would like to thank Dr.James Webb, professor of physics and astronomy in the College of Arts, Sciences & Education, who provided us live footage of the solar eclipse in real-time during the Eclipse.
